Family Practitioner / General Practitioner

About the role

The Medical Clinic on Quadra Island is seeking a Family Practitioner/General Practitioner to join a multidisciplinary primary‑care team. The clinic serves a patient panel of approximately 1,100 residents and works closely with a Nurse Practitioner, phlebotomy staff, MHSU clinician and PCN RSW.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary‑care services to the community patient panel.
• Collaborate daily with the Nurse Practitioner and other clinic staff to coordinate care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and use the clinic’s electronic medical record system.
• Participate in community health initiatives and support local health programs.

Required profile

• Current licence to practice family medicine in British Columbia.
• Experience in primary‑care or rural health settings.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule of 3‑5 days per week, Monday‑Friday only.
• Team‑oriented attitude and ability to integrate into a small‑community practice.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.

What we offer

• Overhead reimbursement at a fixed annual rate (approximately 25% of billings).
• Potential additional remuneration under the Rural Subsidiary Agreement, including a $10,000 recruitment incentive, 9.98% fee premium, annual flat fee of $15,458.40 and CME funding up to $4,400 after four years.
• No weekend or on‑call duties; clinic closed on statutory holidays.
• Flexible full‑time or part‑time arrangements (up to 224 days per year for full‑time).
• Supportive community of about 3,000 residents with access to schools, recreation, ambulance service and volunteer fire department.
• Option to reside on Quadra Island or in nearby Campbell River (10‑minute ferry ride).
• Relocation funding up to $15,000.
