About the role

The Life Sciences Solutions Engineer / Sales Consultant partners with Account Managers to drive sales of Elsevier’s Life Sciences portfolio. The role combines pre‑sales technical expertise, client discovery, and post‑sale hand‑over to ensure customer success in chemistry‑focused workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth client discovery to capture needs and success criteria for life‑sciences solutions.
• Prepare and deliver persona‑tailored presentations and technical demos on chemistry workflows.
• Maintain opportunity and account data in the CRM, logging customer requirements and demo outcomes.
• Lead technical aspects of tender responses, collaborating with account managers and the tender team.
• Develop customized solution proposals and contribute to product‑roadmap discussions.
• Support the hand‑over to Customer Success Managers, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience.
• Participate in user‑group meetings, conferences, and marketing activities to showcase use cases and gather referrals.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of life‑sciences, especially chemistry, and related workflows.
• Proven ability to conduct detailed client discovery and translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
• Experience working closely with sales, product, and marketing teams in a B2B environment.
• Familiarity with tender processes and ability to produce technical responses.
• Customer‑focused mindset with a track record of supporting successful hand‑overs.
