Linux System Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Linux System Engineer to support, implement, commission and maintain industrial systems for oil & gas and fuel storage operations across Brazil and the LATAM region. The role is remote and involves hands‑on project work at fuel terminals, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure reliable and secure system operations.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and troubleshoot Red Hat Linux servers.
• Manage Oracle and SQL Server databases, develop SQL scripts and stored procedures.
• Perform software testing, system validation and support commissioning activities.
• Participate in system rollouts, upgrades and migrations from legacy platforms.
• Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and deliver end‑user training.
• Work with Terminal Automation Systems (TAS) and Terminal Management Systems (TMS).
• Interface with field devices and preset batch controllers (Accuload III/IV, Multiload).
• Support truck and rail loading/offloading skids and related automation.
• Develop and analyse operational data, create reports using SAP Crystal Reports or Jasper.
• Ensure system integration via Modbus TCP, Modbus Serial and RESTful APIs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 2‑5 years of experience as a System Engineer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Red Hat Linux (3+ years).
• Hands‑on experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases (2+ years).
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
• Brazilian nationality, no visa sponsorship required.
• Remote work capability and a valid driver’s licence.
