Maintenance Technician Lead

About the role

Becton, Dickinson and Company, a global medical technology company, is hiring a Maintenance Technician Lead in Curitiba, Brazil. The role leads the maintenance activities of its production line together with the preventive maintenance team, supports continuous improvement projects and trains operators and technicians on problem-solving tools and daily maintenance routines.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in Tier 1 meetings and the production analysis panel, giving the technical status of the line and aligning resource allocation and deadlines to eliminate losses.
• Solve recurring problems using systematic root cause analysis techniques.
• Support shift and preventive maintenance technicians in investigating losses such as breakdowns, waste and speed issues, ensuring countermeasures are effective.
• Train technicians and operators on quality and effectiveness of problem-solving tools and on the robustness of countermeasures.
• Support continuous improvement and validation projects to improve equipment reliability.
• Engage operators and technicians in Daily Maintenance (DTM) and Planned and Preventive Maintenance (PPM) to raise OEE and safety performance.
• Provide information to the preventive maintenance supervisor on maintenance standards and execution based on problem analyses and DTM/PPM results.
• Act as a coach on continuous improvement methodologies and tools, and take part in planning maintenance activities with the preventive maintenance team.
• Maintain critical equipment parameters and standards, close out changes made, and record spare parts used in maintenance or unplanned breakdowns.
• Report anomalies observed during DTM/PPM to reduce losses, and train operators and technicians on DTM/PPM activities and standards.
• Ensure preventive maintenance is carried out effectively, including timely maintenance, and record all maintenance details in the prescribed forms and SAP.
