Principal SAP Integration Architect

About the role

Rimini Street is hiring a Principal SAP Integration Architect for a remote position based in Brazil. The role owns the integration layer between Rimini Street's Agentic ERP Platform and SAP enterprise systems, focusing on SAP ECC and Enhancement Packages (EHP 5-8), which form the core of the company's SAP client base. It reports to the VP, Platform Engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Design and own the integration architecture between the Agentic ERP Platform and SAP ECC/EHP environments.
• Define the tool taxonomy for SAP: which BAPIs, RFCs and transactions become agent-consumable tools, and in what shape.
• Manage transaction boundaries: SAP LUW handling, commit/rollback strategies, concurrency controls and data consistency for agent-initiated operations.
• Enforce the Park/Post pattern so every SAP write tool has safe (draft) and full (post) variants, and implement a tiered autonomy progression (Read, Draft, Supervised, Autonomous).
• Build and maintain SAP connectors that turn platform requests into BAPI/RFC calls, IDoc exchanges or OData interactions, with data validation, fallback mechanisms and connection pooling.
• Act as SAP ECC subject matter expert, guide MCP Server Developers, design test strategies and document integration patterns and troubleshooting guides.
• Collaborate with the Oracle integration lead, AI data engineers, QA engineers and the security lead.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience with SAP systems, deep knowledge of SAP ECC and EHP.
• 8+ years of integration engineering experience building APIs, connectors or middleware.
• Hands-on experience with BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs, OData and CDS views; ABAP reading and debugging skills.
• Preferred: enterprise software support or SAP consulting background, SAP certifications, and experience with Rimini Street's SAP products.
• Fluent English; Portuguese is a plus. Location: remote, Brazil, with minimal travel.

Required skills

• SAP ECC and EHP: BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs, OData, CDS views, SAP JCo, ABAP basics.
• Java 21 with Quarkus 3.x, RESTful APIs, PostgreSQL, OpenTelemetry, Git and CI/CD.
• Preferred: SAP CPI or Integration Suite, SAP Gateway, MCP, durable execution patterns, SAP BTP, HANA, SAP authorisation objects, S/4HANA awareness.
