Programme Coordinator (Consultant)

About the role

The Programme Coordinator will support the implementation of the Social Territories Program in Rio de Janeiro, working closely with UN‑Habitat, government partners and civil‑society stakeholders. This six‑month consultancy focuses on strengthening inter‑sectoral strategies to address multidimensional urban poverty.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the project work plan, develop inception outputs, and prepare high‑quality technical deliverables aligned with project outcomes.
• Monitor the Contribution Agreement, track financial reporting deadlines, and manage disbursement schedules.
• Coordinate recruitment and management of technical teams and consultants, ensuring timely delivery of outputs.
• Maintain relationships with government, academia, private sector and civil‑society partners, organizing regular coordination meetings and providing progress updates.
• Gather and analyse monitoring data, prepare narrative progress reports, and document lessons learned and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, International Relations, Social Sciences, Architecture, Urbanism, Law, Geography, Economics or related field.
• Post‑graduate degree (Lato Sensu or Stricto Sensu) in a relevant discipline or at least four years of comparable professional experience.
• Experience in programme implementation, financial monitoring, and stakeholder engagement in urban development contexts.
