R&D Software Developer Internship – São Paulo

About the role

Join AVEVA’s global Research and Development team to build, improve, and validate software used in real industrial products. You will work alongside experienced engineers on meaningful backlog items, learn modern development practices, and contribute to solutions that deliver measurable value.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to software development tasks across backend services, desktop applications, automation, tooling, or integrations.
• Write clean, maintainable code and take part in code reviews with mentor support.
• Create and improve automated tests and assist with validation to enhance product quality.
• Support troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for defects, reproducing issues and proposing fixes.
• Produce clear technical documentation such as readme updates, how‑to guides, and lightweight design notes.
• Collaborate with a global team using Agile practices: planning, daily syncs, retrospectives, and iterative delivery.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• English proficiency (written and spoken) for work with an international team.
• Solid foundation in programming fundamentals (data structures, basic algorithms, debugging).
• Ability to learn quickly, communicate clearly, and take ownership of assigned tasks.

Required skills

• Git and pull‑request workflows.
• Agile development practices.
• Basic CI concepts.
• Familiarity with at least one language such as C#, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C/C++.
