Senior Reporting Analyst / BI Solutions Specialist

About the role

A proactive, analytical and customer-focused Senior Reporting Analyst is sought to lead the design and delivery of high-impact BI solutions. The role combines technical expertise in Power BI and dimensional modeling with an interest in modern data engineering practices, acting as a bridge between internal customers and cloud data engineering teams. It turns complex operational needs into intuitive, high-performance executive dashboards and optimizes how data flows from the Lakehouse layer into semantic models.

Key responsibilities

• Lead requirements discovery and advisory: run workshops with internal customers and cross-functional teams to define KPIs, reporting logic and dashboard UX wireframes, and advise on visualization best practices and user-centric design.
• Build scalable, high-performance Star Schema models (fact and dimension structures) following enterprise modeling standards.
• Write advanced DAX, including time-intelligence patterns, dynamic metrics, semi-additive calculations and Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Design clean, executive-ready dashboard visualizations.
• Optimize performance by evaluating transformation placement across Source, Lakehouse and Power Query/DAX, and resolve latency using Power BI Performance Analyzer, DAX Studio and VertiPaq Analyzer.
• Work with Data Engineers to shape upstream Lakehouse tables and validate pipeline outputs.

Required profile

• 3-5+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing enterprise Power BI solutions, semantic data models and executive dashboards.
• Proven ability to build performant Star Schemas from multi-source environments.
• Experience advising internal customers and presenting analytical insights to them and leadership.
• Nice to have: 2+ years with SQL and cloud data architectures (Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Snowflake); hands-on Power BI-Databricks integration and familiarity with Delta Lake concepts and Azure Data Factory.
