Solutions Engineer - Data Platform

About the role

Databricks is hiring a Solutions Engineer based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, as part of its program to develop field engineers who become trusted advisors to customers. The role is in-office and requires the candidate to be based in Sao Paulo. You will build working prototypes and demos that show customers how to solve real data problems, and grow into a technical specialist.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong customer relationships across your assigned territory, delivering technical and business value alongside Account Executives.
• Become an expert in big data analytics and a trusted advisor on architecture, design and implementation, helping customers adopt the Databricks platform.
• Move quickly from customer problems to working prototypes by writing code, building demos and creating reusable assets, using AI tools to boost productivity.
• Share best practices by authoring reference architectures, how-tos and demo applications, and lead workshops, seminars and meet-ups to build the local community.
• Develop your knowledge to the level of a technical and/or industry specialist.

Required profile

• 1+ years of technical experience in a customer-facing role.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• A builder mindset, preferring hands-on prototyping and learning by doing, with comfort using AI-assisted development tools.
• Ability to interact with customers confidently and professionally.
• Willingness to complete technical training and reach role expectations within 6 months of hire.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Python, Java or Scala, and proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with Big Data technologies (e.g. Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) and architectures is a plus.
