Support Engineer, SAP Basis (Evergreen)

About the role

Rimini Street, a global provider of enterprise software support, managed services and SAP support, is hiring a remote Support Engineer, SAP Basis (Evergreen) for its global customer support team. The role provides remote support for mission-critical SAP applications, troubleshooting and fixing issues in complex, highly configured environments.

Key responsibilities

• Solve complex customer issues through methodical troubleshooting and provide remote functional support and training for specialist SAP modules.
• Develop, test, package and deliver fixes for critical product defects and application break fixes.
• Create scripts to identify, analyze and correct data issues.
• Manage one or more key accounts as a technical/functional advisor and share implementation and customization advice.
• Work with customers daily to support business change and deliver a consistent high-quality experience.
• Contribute to knowledge-sharing methods and diagnostic tools in a 24x7x365 support organization, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Collaborate with team members virtually and share field experience across client situations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of all-round SAP experience, particularly with SAP Basis.
• Working knowledge of at least two operating systems among Linux, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX or Windows.
• Expertise in SAP HANA in-memory platform, including architecture, landscape design, installation, upgrades, performance tuning and migration.
• Experience with SLT installation and configuration, and with database sizing and performance.
• Track record in several SAP implementation or upgrade projects; good experience with client-facing support.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Fluent English; another language is desirable.

Required skills

• Preferred: SAP certification and S/4 HANA expertise, including maintenance and patching mechanics.
• Nice to have: SAP SWPM tool, SAP industry solutions, country-specific solutions, consulting background and global implementation experience.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and communication skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently and remotely.
