Tax Assistant

About the role

BW Energy is looking for a Tax Assistant to support its tax operations in Brazil. The role covers tax calculations, filings and compliance for indirect taxes, keeping tax records, withholding taxes and statutory documentation accurate and certificates up to date. It works closely with the Accounting and Finance teams and helps with audits, tax assessments and documentation on tax incentives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in calculating direct and indirect taxes and preparing tax returns.
• Calculate withholding taxes due on supplier invoices.
• Keep the Municipal, State and Federal Clearance Certificates up to date.
• Keep the company and administrator Digital Certificates current.
• Check and validate tax obligations and reconcile tax information with accounting.
• Prepare tax calculation records and support the preparation of tax requirements and tax incentive documentation.
• Help attend tax authorities and government agencies for tax assessments, audits and other tax issues.

Required profile

• Student or graduate in Accounting or a related field; long relevant experience can compensate for formal education.
• Tax experience in an accounting firm and/or industry, preferably an E&P corporation.
• Fluent oral and written Portuguese.

Required skills

• Knowledge of tax obligations.
• Ability to work with ERP systems.
