Tax Specialist

About the role

The Tax Specialist will provide technical and strategic tax intelligence for Colgate-Palmolive’s operations in Brazil. The role ensures accurate interpretation, updating, and application of indirect tax legislation, turning legal changes into efficient business processes.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily indirect tax legislation (ICMS, IPI, ISS, PIS/COFINS, IBS, CBS) and communicate required changes.
• Validate that new legal guidelines are correctly applied in billing and purchasing workflows.
• Support the Tax Reform project by defining systemic and operational implementation of new rules.
• Provide consultative support to Finance, Procurement, Sales, and Marketing on tax matters.
• Prepare and analyze formal consultations, special regime requests, and technical documents for authorities.
• Assist with tax audits and inspections.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law.
• Solid experience in indirect taxes (ICMS, IPI, ISS, PIS/COFINS) and tax compliance.
• Proven ability to draft technical opinions and support business units.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Required skills

• Knowledge of indirect tax legislation (ICMS, IPI, ISS, PIS/COFINS, IBS, CBS).
• Experience with tax compliance, audits, and inspections.
• Hands‑on use of AI tools for tax consultancy (e.g., NotebookLM, ChatGPT, Gemini).
• Familiarity with SAP (preferred).
