Area Manager – Reverse Logistics Operations

About the role

Amazon is looking for a results‑oriented Area Manager to lead daily operations at a reverse logistics site. You will oversee a team that processes returned items, manages vendor returns, and handles asset recovery while driving continuous improvement and ensuring high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Directly supervise associates handling failed gear sorting, RMA processing, vendor returns, and asset recovery.
• Maintain a visible presence on the floor for up to 12‑hour shifts, providing hands‑on support and leading by example.
• Monitor work queues and SLA compliance to guarantee timely processing of returns and shipments.
• Audit employee output to ensure quality and operational requirements are met.
• Use data and metrics to prioritize issues, conduct deep‑dives when needed, and implement process improvements.
• Conduct regular team meetings, daily huddles, and shift briefings to communicate priorities and performance.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and on‑the‑job training to develop team capabilities.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational procedures.
• Facilitate effective shift handoffs to maintain continuity across day and night operations.
• Track and report on KPIs such as throughput, quality, and safety metrics.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising a team in a fast‑paced, 24/7 logistics environment.
• Ability to work rotating day and night 12‑hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decisions.
• Hands‑on leadership style with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the capacity to make quick decisions on the floor.
