Field Supervisor – UN-Habitat Project in Mauá, Brazil

About the role

The Field Supervisor will support the implementation of the Periferia Viva – Jardim Zaíra/Chafick-Macuco project in Mauá, Brazil. Working closely with UN‑Habitat operational and technical teams, the consultant will oversee field data collection and ensure compliance with project standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor field work plans, ensuring high‑quality questionnaire administration.
• Supervise Field Agents, manage daily activities of the data collection team, and oversee safety protocols.
• Coordinate with municipal housing authorities and provide logistical support for local events and visits.
• Prepare periodic activity reports, highlighting progress, challenges and recommendations.
• Assess data quality on the designated platform daily and suggest improvements to fieldwork methodology.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Architecture, Urban Planning, Engineering, Geography, Project Management, Statistics or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum two years of experience in research, data collection or conducting interviews/questionnaires in Brazil, preferably in vulnerable communities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with data collection applications such as Kobo.
• Strong computer skills in Windows, Microsoft Office suite and Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms).
