L2 Application Support Engineer

About the role

Coforge is hiring an L2 Application Support Engineer in São Paulo, working in person. The role focuses on analysing and resolving application issues, improving stability and performance, and automating incident handling and health monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and resolve application issues with team members, identifying defects, discrepancies and trends through code debugging or log analysis.
• Manage incidents and communicate clearly with users, application owners and senior stakeholders.
• Improve application stability and performance by spotting patterns and recurring failures, and advise owners on permanent fixes.
• Automate failures using machine learning techniques, notify discrepancies in production health and automate health restoration, measuring risk and cost continuously.
• Identify alerts and processes that can be automated, and challenge existing application setups to suggest better ways to solve problems.
• Take part in change management to manage production risk, build and improve run books, and develop reports tracking application health and support performance.
• Learn and troubleshoot proprietary technologies not available through the marketplace.

Required profile

• Understanding of data structures in practical use cases.
• Problem-solving in development or production, with experience spotting patterns, analysing root causes and proposing solutions.
• Good Unix troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication skills, able to explain technical and functional aspects of problems.
• Preferred: experience in financial services, cluster computing and big data (Spark, Hadoop, HDFS, XRS on public cloud), and a degree in Computer Science.

Required skills

• Structured or object-oriented languages such as Java, C, C++, VB.NET, ASP or Angular.
• Scripting languages such as Shell script, Perl, JavaScript or Python.
• RDBMS environments such as Sybase ASE/IQ, Oracle or DB2.
• ETL / batch processes and capacity management.
