Software Engineer, Integrations

About the role

Gigs builds an operating system for mobile services that lets tech companies embed global connectivity into their products, automating provisioning and simplifying telecom. It is looking for a backend-focused Software Engineer who connects systems, unblocks teams and turns complexity into seamless solutions. The company is open to mid, senior and staff-level candidates, which may lead to an adjusted scope and compensation.

Key responsibilities

• Own complex problems end-to-end, from designing and building robust, scalable solutions to maintaining a high standard of quality across the engineering practice.
• Integrate with and maintain a wide range of APIs and external systems, primarily in Ruby, architecting solutions that handle asynchronous flows, distributed state synchronization and dynamic data validation.
• Build a new telco operating system, integrating deeply with existing telecom networks and collaborating across organizations.
• Maintain system reliability, building for observability and taking part in incident response.

Required profile

• Experience designing APIs and building backend services, with a focus on system thinking and software quality.
• Uses AI as a core part of daily work: prompts agents with context and intent, reviews their output critically and knows when to push back.
• Strong English communication skills, able to explain complex ideas and collaborate across global teams.
• Perseverance in designing robust solutions for complex, evolving external systems, with systematic debugging and experimentation.
• Able to collaborate across large organizations and understand the business context behind commercial offerings.
• Eager to learn new domains, including regulatory flows and industry specifics, to build stable and compliant solutions.
