Senior Tester II - QA

About the role

Epic Games is hiring a full-time Senior Tester II for its testing group in Brazil. The person in this role owns the testing approach for a specialized domain within a major Epic product and aims to make that domain faster and more reliable to test over time, through better methods, tooling and use of data. The role is embedded with the development team and acts as a technical reference point for the wider test team.

Key responsibilities

• Own the test approach for your area, developing and executing tests independently, with or without QA Analyst guidance
• Design and introduce sustainable testing methods, including tooling, automation aids or data analysis, that increase testing throughput or efficiency
• Identify systemic problems beyond day-to-day concerns and develop semi-permanent solutions instead of one-off fixes
• Perform test gap and risk analysis using defect data and coverage insights, and report blocking issues, test results and quality status to the development team
• Escalate quality concerns that cannot be resolved within existing constraints, proposing a path forward
• Prioritize work week to week and mentor testers while acting as a domain reference for adjacent teams

Required profile

• Minimum of 4 years of QA/Testing experience in games or software, embedded in a development team throughout the software development life cycle
• Deep knowledge of the product areas tested, with judgment on where risk concentrates
• Track record of improving testing through tooling, process change or data, with evidence of impact
• Fluent in English and Portuguese
• Experience mentoring less experienced testers

Required skills

• Analysis of defect trends and coverage gaps
• Experience with gaming consoles and/or mobile devices
• Experience with game engines such as Unreal and Unity
• Test management tools (e.g. TestRail, Xray, QMetry) and issue tracking systems like Jira
