Solutions Architect - Lakebase

About the role

Databricks' Solutions Architect (Lakebase) team works on early-stage, high-priority product lines to help clients adopt and grow their use of the Lakebase product. The role is paired with an Account Executive and covers a specific local region, working with clients across one or more business units and verticals.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute engagement strategies across the territory together with GTM leadership and account teams.
• Act as a trusted advisor and champion, building technical credibility with stakeholders to drive product adoption.
• Run workshops and create customer-facing collateral to raise technical knowledge and thought leadership.
• Influence the product roadmap by turning field insights into recommendations for Product and Engineering teams.
• Serve as the tier-3 escalation point for the field on complex technical challenges, ensuring customer success in mission-critical environments.

Required profile

• 10+ years of transactional database (OLTP) expertise across engineering, product development, administration and pre-sales, with a track record of client-facing solutions.
• Ability to influence OLTP products and shape roadmap priorities.
• Experience architecting solutions that integrate transactional data into Big Data, Lakehouse and AI ecosystems.
• Expertise in disaster recovery, high availability, backup and recovery, scale-out, identity and security management, and migrations (vendor-to-vendor, on-prem to cloud).
• 6+ years in a customer-facing, pre-sales or consulting role influencing technical executives.
• Experience co-planning large territories with Account Executives and working with Global System Integrators and third-party consultants.
• Undergraduate degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or Engineering.

Required skills

• SQL and Python for programming, debugging and problem-solving.
• Hands-on experience building solutions in AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Broad experience in data engineering, data warehousing, AI, ML, governance, transactional systems, app development and streaming.
