Senior Data Scientist

About the role

Pyyne is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join its Latin American office and work on a new engagement with a large US‑based e‑commerce retailer. The role involves consulting with the client’s head of data and turning business questions into actionable models.

Key responsibilities

• Translate stakeholder business questions into well‑defined analytical problems and communicate findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Explore, clean, and validate data from multiple sources, building reliable datasets and features for analysis and modeling.
• Design, train, and evaluate statistical and machine‑learning models, selecting the simplest effective approach.
• Design and analyze experiments (e.g., A/B tests) and define metrics that measure business impact.
• Collaborate with client data and engineering teams to move models into production and monitor them over time.
• Write clean, tested, reproducible code and document assumptions, methods, and results.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or in a comparable applied machine‑learning role.
• Strong Python (pandas, scikit‑learn) and SQL skills.
• Solid foundation in statistics, machine learning, model selection, validation, and experiment design.
• Advanced English (spoken and written) for daily collaboration with client stakeholders.
